Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a GREAT Independence Day weekend!
July is the heat of summer, it’s the heart of off season training for me. It’s rigorous and I love it! I truly have to compete with myself to get through my training sessions. That is what I want to talk about today, competing.
The Importance of Competing: Not everyone is competitive and likes to take on their foe face to face with an intrinsic force to “take home the gold.” That’s ok, we are all wired differently, but just because you don’t think you are competitive doesn’t mean you don’t know how to compete. Your life, like mine, revolves around competing, whether you know it or not. You compete on a daily basis with your own thoughts and personal battles. For some, the battles may be laziness, for others procrastination. These are just a few things we have to compete against that are detrimental to our future. It is important that we realize we must compete with ourselves daily! Why? Because if you don’t, you will fall short of your goals, compete against your “human nature” and set yourself apart.
It’s a Mindset: Competing isn’t always against other people, or teams. It is most commonly against yourself. If it’s not, it should be. Being a competitor is a mindset, it’s a choice you will have to make on a daily basis. Every morning, every time you want to give in to temptation that will veer you off the path of accomplishing your dreams. Don’t fear competition, it will help breed the atmosphere you need to be great!
Have a great week everyone! Go compete!
If you are feeling discouraged this week remember:
